EUREKA STUDIO | A RURAL COMMUNITY DESIGN CENTER
We are a rural community design center. We originated within the Small-Town Studio at Kansas State University, College of Architecture, Design and Planning as an outreach facility.
We offer design and planning services on a sliding scale fee structure. We offer realistic solutions to rural problems; we rely on instinct and ingenuity, and we have a no non-sense process to evaluate projects and offer solutions that are workable. We are a regional center for rural engagement, where University and non-university participants can engage in events and exhibits that explore these issues. The Studio is structured to provide a unique and innovative off campus classroom environment to support work among students, faculty, professionals, and the community. Eureka Studio is a design laboratory environment that explores alternatives for the future of rural towns throughout the Flint Hills region. Eureka Studio builds awareness and provides real world engagement of the issues that face small towns across Kansas and the opportunities that exist. The LAB is host to a group of creative individuals and small collectives working in a variety of disciplines, including design, architecture, fine arts, sculpture, graphic design, web development, illustration, writing, and film making.
